Pizza delivery driver avoids armed robbery in Rockford, three men wanted - WIFR

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Three men are wanted after police say they tried to rob a pizza delivery driver Monday in Rockford.

The delivery driver, a 45-year-old man, brought pizzas to a home in the 1100 block of Bishop Washington Avenue.

Officers met with the victim in the 1400 block of South Main Street.

One suspect initially approached the victim's vehicle before telling him he was going back inside the home to grab money. When he returned, two additional suspects approached from both sides of the car.

Police say one of the suspects was armed with a handgun and demanded the delivery driver's money. The victim was able to drive away without any injuries or items stolen.

The first suspect is described as a Hispanic man around 6 feet tall and 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue and black hooded sweater with the hood tied around his face.

The second suspect is described as a black man, around 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweater and black mask. He was also armed with a handgun.

The third suspect is described as a man of an unknown race around 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 150 pounds. He was wearing a black mask.
