After nearly 43 years of operation, another Central NY Pizza Hut to close - syracuse.com

OSWEGO, N.Y. -- A Pizza Hut restaurant in Oswego will close at the end of business today, Pizza Hut corporate officials announced.

The location, 303 W Seneca in Oswego, opened in 1977. It will close at 10 p.m. today.

The restaurant is closing because it wasn’t performing well enough, officials said.

Randy Kline, Pizza Hut district manager, said sales growth in the past several years has not kept up with the rise in expenses.

"That equation does not provide for a sustainable business,'' he said in a new release announcing the closing.

Kline said employees at the Oswego restaurant have been offered jobs at the Pizza Hut in Fulton.

In May 2018, Pizza Huts in DeWitt, Nedrow and Chittenango closed.

The Oswego and Fulton Pizza Huts are operated by DaLand Corp.

In August 2019, Pizza Hut announced plans to close nearly 500 locations nationwide.

In the Syracuse area, Pizza Hut restaurants remain open in Cicero, Liverpool, East Syracuse and Baldwinsville.
