The owner of a Centerville pizza shop says he is shutting down the restaurant after the close of business on Saturday, Jan. 25, although he hopes to find a new location later this year.
King's New York Pizzeria, at 57 W. Franklin St., has operated for four years in the heart of downtown Centerville, and owner Jaime Interiano told this news outlet late Tuesday that in the coming months, he will look for a new space to reopen his pizza shop.

“We want to stay in the heart of Centerville,” Interiano said.
Interiano said issues with his lease and parking lot led to his decision to close the pizza shop.
On the restaurant’s Facebook page, the owner posted the following notice to customers:
“As many know, our building has been for sale for a long time, and our lease has been up. We've had ongoing and unresolved issues with the parking lot and signage; without that control or a voice, we've made the hard decision to move on. We appreciate all of the love and support we've received from the community over the years. Hopefully we will be back again one day soon. Take care and thank you!”

In response to a customer’s question, the shop’s owner replied, “We're going to take a bit of a break and scout new locations over the next few months. We've been searching for quite awhile now, but have decided to step back until we find something that suits the bigger plan.”

The space has housed a pizza shop for more than a decade. Johnny’s Slice of New York Pizzeria relocated to the West Franklin Street location in 2010 after operating at 298 N. Main St.
