DETROIT – National Pizza Day is February 9.
And for Buddy’s Pizza, it’s extra special in 2020. The popular chain known for its Detroit-style pizza, is offering a weekend of deals and freebies in partnership with its new home delivery partner DoorDash.
On Friday, February 7, 250 pizza fans near Buddy’s 16 locations can get a free 4-Square, two-topping pizza by using promo code PIZZABUDDYS at checkout when they order through DoorDash and spend $5. The offer is good while supplies last and is not valid for pickup or dine-in. Limit one per person.
Oon February 8 and 9 Buddy’s will continue the celebration with $0 delivery fees on all orders over $12.
Buddy's Pizza has seen off-premise sales grow to 41% of their business since teaming with DoorDash, according to a news release from the company.

“While the majority of Buddy’s business is dine-in, off-premise—including delivery—continues to be a key growth area. As we look to expand, we are eager to utilize this partnership with DoorDash as a way to introduce new markets to the Original Detroit-Style Pizza,” said Chief Executive Officer of Buddy’s Pizza, Burton Heiss.
“DoorDash allows our current customers to have their favorite pizza delivered while also introducing Buddy’s to a brand-new consumer base.”
This is one of DoorDash’s largest deals to date in the Detroit area, according to a news release.
“We’re proud to partner with Buddy’s, a pioneer in pizza and an institution in the Michigan dining scene, to help them build out their delivery channels and reach more customers in more ways across the state,” said Brooke Segaran, Head of Regional Merchant Partnerships at DoorDash.
Founded in 1946, Buddy’s Pizza also serves soups, antipasto salad, pastas, burgers and sandwiches.
