Are you looking for a deal on pizza?
Sunday is National Pizza Day, putting the ubiquitous pizza in the spotlight.
Celebrated on Feb. 9 every year it’s a day to make sure you treat yourself to a slice or more. Several places are offering (see below) specials on one of Americans' favorite food.
Just how much do we love pizza?
A lot.
More than 4 billion pizzas are sold in the U.S, each year. Yes, we said billion. And of that 4 billion, one billion are frozen. That’s a lot of frozen pies.
According to offers.com, Pizza Hut is America’s favorite pizza place followed by Domino’s.
While there are a lot of varieties of pizza — thick crust, thin crust, deep-dish, square and round — Detroit style pizza was named a hot food trend this year.

Just in time for National Pizza Day, Buddy’s — which is considered the creator of Detroit-style — has a new offering.
Buddy’s, which has always been dine-in or carryout place, has expanded to delivery.
On Wednesday, Buddy’s announced it has partnered with DoorDash — a leader in food delivery services. You will be able to get Buddy’s famed Detroit-style pizza, salads and soups delivered to your door.
Last month, another Detroit-based pizza maker, Little Caesars Pizza, announced its partnership with DoorDash. The move for Detroit-based chain is significant. For nearly 60 years in business, except for a few locations, Little Caesars has been a takeout place.
Here are a few pizza deals offered for National Pizza Day:
- Blaze Pizza: With more than 300 location nationwide, teamed with Postmates to offer a free large, Build-Your-Own Pizza with a $25 minimum purchase on Postmates. One-time use code: PIZZADAY and only valid on Sunday.
- Buddy’s Pizza: In honor of National Pizza Day and its new partnership with DoorDash, Buddy's is dishing out free pizza and no delivery fees. On Friday only, it's giving away a total of 250 pizzas across its 16 locations. The offer is for a free original 4-square, two-topping pizza, while supplies last. To get the free pizza you need to order through DoorDash and use promo code "PIZZABUDDYS" at checkout. The order needs to be at least $5. On Saturday and Sunday, Buddy’s will $0 delivery fees on all orders over $12.
- Jet's Pizza: For a limited time the Sterling Heights-based pizza maker has brought back its Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza. You can get it through the end of February. It's available online for $13.99 with the with the code "RANCH." The pizza features chicken, bacon, premium mozzarella, cheddar cheese and Jet’s ranch dressing as the base sauce.
